When I was a kid, I learned to dislike games because my family enacted all their stresses by hammering each other at Yahtzee. The harder you slammed the cup of dice, the more awesome you believed you were.
Today's games work with cooperative mechanisms. In Pandemic**, you each play different employees of the Center for Disease Control, working cooperatively to halt a global infection. Either the whole team wins, or no one wins.
Resistance*** adds a "traitor" mechanic to cooperative gaming. One player (or two if there are enough players) is a saboteur -- but no one knows whom to trust. I hate being the saboteur when I play -- I prefer winning with a team to winning alone.
And to pick up these games, visit the games selection at Collector's Connection today. They are on the shelf waiting.
